MILWAUKEE (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points to bring his career total over 20,000, Damian Lillard added 34 points and Kevin Porter Jr. had a triple-double as the surging Milwaukee Bucks trounced the short-handed Dallas Mavericks 137-107 The 30-year-old Antetokounmpo has scored 20,010 career points. He’s the 52nd player to reach 20,000. Porter had 10 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists. The Mavericks had only eight available players in their first game since Kyrie Irving tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Monday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels scored 29 points apiece and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Charlotte Hornets 125-110 on Wednesday night. Julius Randle finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for the Timberwolves, who won their third straight. McDaniels grabbed 10 rebounds. LaMelo Ball had 28 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Charlotte, which has lost eight straight. Miles Bridges added 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists. The Timberwolves took the lead with 5:40 remaining in the first quarter and did not give it up. The score was 65-58 by halftime, with Edwards racking up 16 points in the half.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — John Blackwell had 25 points and a career-high 11 rebounds to help 12th-ranked Wisconsin beat Minnesota 74-67. John Tonje added 18 points and seven boards as the Badgers improved to 23-7 overall and 13-6 in the Big Ten for a three-way tie for third place. They have a top-four seed and the accompanying double-bye for the conference tournament in sight. Wisconsin is the national free-throw shooting leader and went 21 for 24. Minnesota is the Big Ten’s worst team at the line and was 8 for 15. Brennan Rigsby led the Gophers with 18 points.
STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Alex Karaban scored 21 points, including a pivotal 3-pointer with 23.7 seconds left, and UConn defeated No. 20 Marquette 72-66. Liam McNeeley had 11 points and Samson Johnson added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies, who pulled into a tie with Marquette for third place in the conference standings. UConn owns the tiebreaker after sweeping the season series. Solo Ball and Hassan Diarra each scored 10 points as the two-time defending NCAA champions beat Marquette for the fifth straight time. David Joplin had 23 points and Kam Jones scored 21 for the Golden Eagles. The opening tip was delayed by 22 minutes as a result of facility issues, according to a statement from UConn.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Lucy Olsen scored 14 of her 19 points in the first half on 8-for-12 shooting and 11th-seeded Iowa beat No. 14-seed Wisconsin 81-54 in the Big Ten Tournament. Serah Williams scored 22 points for Wisconsin. Wisconsin’s Tess Myers made a jumper with 6:37 left in the first quarter to give the Badgers a 9-6 lead. From there, Iowa all but buttoned it up by launching into a 19-0 run to close the quarter.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Elle Ladine had 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Sayvia Sellers and Dalayah Daniels each added 15, and No. 12 seed Washington beat No. 13 seed Minnesota 79-65 in its first Big Ten Tournament appearance. Washington (19-12), which also beat the Gophers 72-62 on Feb. 26, will look for its sixth straight victory on Thursday against No. 5 seed Michigan. Washington used a 12-0 run to go ahead 52-38 with 2:50 left in the third quarter. Sellers made two 3-pointers during the run, and she found Tayra Eke for Washington’s fifth straight field goal. After Minnesota closed the third quarter on a 7-0 run to get within 54-48, Hannah Stines scored five points during Washington’s 7-0 run to open the fourth for a 13-point lead.
