On this day in US history, the US House of Representatives endorses the declaration to go to war against Germany on April 6, 1917. After Germany sank four more US ships in March, President Wilson appeared before Congress on April 2nd to ask for a declaration of war. Just four days later, his request was granted, and on June 26, 14,000 US infantry troops began training in France.
